Subaru BRZ Specifications & Details
Similar to all Subaru Model Vehicles, the 2013 Subaru BRZ is designed with Subaru's Ring Shape Reinforcement Frame body structure for occupant safety. The front suspension uses struts and coil springs to keep the total weight of the BRZ under 2,800 pounds. The front struts were mounted low and optimized for a low hood line while retaining a long stroke for ideal handling and ride quality.
The Subaru BRZ will have the option of selecting between a six-speed manual transmission, optimized for "heel-and-toe" downshifting and presents the driver with a short-throw shift lever, and a six-speed automatic transmission that offers the driver an available sport mode for firmer shifting, and steering wheel paddle shifters to give a more direct sports car driving experience.

The BRZ is powered by an all-new FA-Series Boxer engine uniquely combines direct injection and port injection technology which sprays fuel directly into the combustion chambers rather than upstream into the ports, creating a cooling effect in the cylinders, and enables the BRZ to achieve a high efficiency with fuel consumption. The BRZ is rear wheel drive to allow the engine to sit lower in the chassis to contribute to the BRZ's overall low center of gravity. It has a redline of 7,400 rpm and a torque curve that peaks at an estimated 150 lb.-ft. and offers a strong midrange to make the BRZ feel more responsive in daily driving.
